Description

Pumpkin sauce for coffee is the autumn treat that reminds us of the beginning of fall and the joy of holidays. My mama Ana and I always make pumpkin sauce at the start of autumn and use this sauce for Coffee and tea. I’ve already bought some spooky mugs and wish all of you until autumn for full-force decorating, but a few fall/spooky things I love to have out all year round. So, I made pumpkin sauce to enjoy my coffee in the fall. This sauce is easy to make with only four ingredients: light brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix the light brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and water in a saucepan on medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves and combine it well. Heat the mixture for 8-10 minutes while continuously stirring it and until it starts to form bubbles.
  3. Add vanilla extract to the bubbling mixture. Give it a good stir and combine completely.
  4. Leave the mixture to cool after turning off the flame. Once the pumpkin spice syrup is cooled, transfer the sauce into the jar or bottle and refrigerate.
  5. Use one tablespoon of this syrup in your coffee or latte and enjoy your pumpkin spiced latte at home!

Notes

  • The consistency of this syrup is all your choice. If you prefer the light consistency of the sauce, then increase the amount of water and decrease the cooking time but if you prefer a thicker consistency then decrease the amount of water and cook it for a little longer.
  • Stir the pumpkin syrup mixture continuously to avoid burning sugar and prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom and wall of the saucepan.
  • You can increase the spice flavor by adding more pumpkin spice for a stronger flavor then use the sauce as your desired amount in coffee, latte, or hot chocolate.
