Description
To make these INSANE Chocolate Rice Krispies treats, all you need to do is mix in melted chocolate chips, peanut butter, and honey into the Rice Krispies mixture while it’s still hot. It couldn’t be easier or faster!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Bar Dark Chocolate (200g dark chocolate chips)
- ½ cup Peanut Butter (140g)
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 2 cups Rice Krispies (or Cornflakes)
Instructions
- First, we prepare the chocolate and peanut butter mixture. Add the Dark chocolate chips, peanut butter, and honey in a microwave-safe bowl. If using a dark chocolate bar, break it into little pieces to make it easier to melt. Microwave it for about 25-30 seconds or until the chocolate is melted completely. Stir, and if needed, return to the microwave for 5 seconds and stir again.
- Combine chocolate and peanut butter until smooth, then add Rice Krispies and mix thoroughly or until the mixture is coated completely.
- Line a 9 x12-inch sheet pan with plastic wrap or parchment paper. Transfer the mixture to the pan and flatten to your desired thickness using a spatula. Don’t press too much because it will break the Krispies inside.
- Put the pan into the freezer for approximately 30 minutes (half an hour) or until they are set. Remove the chilled Krispies from the freezer. Cut them into squares or rectangles of your choice and enjoy!
Notes
- Use dark chocolate that has at least 70% cocoa for the best results. Use Best quality natural peanut butter that has less or no added sugar, or preservatives.
- Melt the chocolate mixture in intervals to prevent burning. Check after 15-20 seconds. Stir well in each interval to ensure even melting.
- Avoid overmixing the peanut-chocolate mixture with Rice Krispies because overmixing can crush the Rice Krispies and affect its crispy texture.
- For cutting sharply, use a sharp knife. Dip the knife in a hot water mixture and then wipe the knife with some paper towel and then cut the chocolate Rice Krispies into desired shapes like hearts, stars, or animals.
- Sprinkle some salt in the chocolate mixture to balance the sweetness.
- Don’t over-press the Rice Krispies mixture while flattening it in the pan to prevent its hardening.
- Present it in fun ways like adding a chocolate shell. Melt the ½ cup of chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Dip half of your chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispie treats into it and let them cool. For a festive touch, decorate with colorful sprinkles or edible glitter.
