Description

Woke up this morning craving some jammy eggs! You should give our egg a whirl and start your day with a kick.

Everyone talked about jammy eggs, but what does that even mean? These eggs are delicious, with spoon-able firmness, halfway between hard-cooked and soft-cooked eggs. They are called jammy eggs because their yolk is so soft and spread like a jam.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Ice

Instructions

Follow these simple steps and have the most delicious, creamy eggs with a soft, jammy yolk.

  1. Serve: Dust some salt and black pepper. You can eat them hot or cold or serve them with a salad, avocado toast, or ramen.

Notes

  • Fresh eggs are little more difficult to peel than older eggs. Be patient and do not rush the peeling. If you rush you will probably break your egg.
  • Add some salt in a boiling water. It will make eggs float up to the surface. Salt will ensure that the eggs will not break due to colliding inside the pan.
  • I also used a steamer basket to lower them all and take them all out once. Even 10 seconds can mean the difference between a completely firm yolk and a jammy yolk.
  • Always remember that the bigger eggs will take more time to boil than the smaller ones. For bigger eggs increase the timer for 10-15 seconds
