It was my niece Bella’s 7th birthday party, and I saw Bella coming with a dull orange doll with curly brown hair. Her honey eyes sparkled the moment sunshine hit her eyes, making a stream of sunshine. She was so happy about her birthday and dolled up like sunshine. My sister customized an orange-themed birthday from a local bakery near her house. Suddenly, the phone rang, and bad news came. The delivery girl on the phone sadly informed us that she had an emergency and couldn’t deliver the cake on time (She explained the personal reasons). Remedy the situation; I decided to make the quick orange cake with the perfect orange glaze, which turned out amazing in less time. The birthday went amazing, and the theme of orange turned out to be an amazing idea on the outside summer birthday, and orange glaze cake was hit!
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- ½ cup sugar powder
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
Instructions
- Combine the Ingredients: In a bowl, mix orange juice, sugar powder, and corn flour. Whisk the orange mixture until well combined and lumps are removed.
- Cook to Make Glaze: Add the orange mixture to the saucepan and cook on low flame while continuously stirring with a whisk for 5 minutes. Cook until the thick glaze is formed according to your desired consistency. When bubbles form in the sauce and it starts thickening, turn off the heat and cool it completely. Strain the glaze to remove any lumps before adding it to your favorite cake.
Notes
- If the seeds appear in the orange juice, remove them. Plain orange juice will help you achieve a smooth glaze rather than a rough one.
- We want to reduce and concentrate the juice into the glaze, so we don’t use water or diluted juice.
- Be careful not to over-reduce the glaze. Eventually, the glaze tends to thicken when cooled. We want the optimum consistency of glaze that is neither too gummy nor too runny.
- Straining is important for the smooth, velvety glaze.
