Oyster stew is the perfect cure for chilly weather. Simplicity is the key to a delicious oyster stew. The Shining Star is oyster liquor that flavors milk with an intense salty flavor that needs little adornments.

- 1 tablespoon red bell pepper
- ¼ cup shallot
- 1/4 cup celery
- 1 stick butter
- 2 quarts half and half milk
- 1– quart oysters
- 1 tablespoon white pepper
- 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
Instructions
- Sauté the vegetables. In a large pan add 1 stick of butter, add minced vegetables and give them a good stir until translucent and soft.
- Add half and half milk. When vegetables become translucent and soft add 2 quarts of half-and-half milk. Do not let your milk boil.
- Add oysters. When the pan starts steaming add 1 quart of oysters with their liquor. Now stir until the edges of the oyster begin to curl.
- Add seasonings. Add 1 tablespoon of black pepper, seafood seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of sea salt and some stirring until our oyster stew is ready.
- Garnish. Add some green onions, or any other garnish of your choice, to this stew.
- Serve. Serve oyster or saltine crackers along with this stew. Have fun!
Notes
- The key to making oyster milk stew is not to let your milk boil. Your milk will begin to curdle if you boil it.
- The key point for making oyster stew is to keep your temperature low and slow.
- If you want your oyster stew more favorably, do not throw away the liquor of oysters.
