Description

If you crave seafood, the shrimp wrap recipe is best for you. Shrimp is one of my favorite seafood. You only need a tortilla wrap, sautéed shrimp, and a veggie salad. I tried these wraps in a seafood restaurant in San Francisco with my family. I recreated the recipe with my improved version, which tasted even better.

Ingredients

Scale

For Shrimp Marinate:

  • 400 g peeled shrimp
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp black seed (optional)
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning

For Salad:

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 4 red radishes (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 spring onions (finely chopped)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 ripe avocado (diced)
  • 1 fresh red chili (thinly sliced (adjust to taste))
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For Frying Shrimp:

  • 2 tbsp oil (for pan-frying)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder and salt to taste
  • 4 tortillas

Sauce:

  • Coleslaw

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimps:Wash the peeled shrimp and remove the tails. Put the shrimp in a bowl and add grated ginger, minced garlic, black seed, and taco seasoning. Mix them well and make sure they are well-coated. Marinate the shrimp for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Salad: Mix the shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red radishes, chopped cilantro, spring onion, diced avocado, lime juice, fresh red chili, olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl.
  3. Fry the Shrimps: Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated shrimp. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink. Add butter, salt, and paprika powder and cook for 2 minutes more. Don’t overcook the shrimp.
  4. Assemble the shrimp wraps: Warm the tortilla wraps from both sides. Place salads, prepared shrimp, and cilantro lime sauce in the center of the wrap. Wrap it, and enjoy your tortilla shrimp wraps.

Notes

  • Use quality shrimp and tortillas for the best results.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp because it will lose its natural taste. If we cook shrimps for a long time the shrimps become rubbery. Don’t choose the slimy shrimps with their color change.
  • Season the shrimp properly and make sure they are well-coated. This will help the flavors to be absorbed completely in shrimps.
  • Place the veggies salad first followed by cooked shrimp and sauce. Wrap it completely and if you want to secure it then secure it with the help of a toothpick.
