Description

How long has it been since you ate warm comfort food? If you want to taste something warm with excellent taste, then the salmon stew recipe is your comfort food. A recipe that wraps seasoned fried salmon with tender veggies and seasonings. My mom made this stew for me when I was a kid. Growing up, I liked salmon very much, so I also started to make this recipe sometimes as a comfort food. My family’s all-time favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 salmon fillets washed and cleaned
  • ½ cup red, green, and orange sweet pepper
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ cup onion sliced
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 thyme sprig

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning
  • 1 tsp Badia seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For Sauce Preparation

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon dark soya

Instructions

  1. Additional Flavors: It is topped with sweet pepper, onion, and thyme sprigs. Cook the entire stew for two more minutes, and the salmon stew recipe is ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Choose the right quality salmon. I prefer wild-caught salmon to farmed salmon. Although both are good sources of nutrients, wild salmon is much preferable. Wild salmon have more nutrients than farmed salmon.
  • The longer you marinate the salmon, the better it will taste. Marinate the salmon for 30 minutes if you want the flavors to be absorbed entirely.
  • Adjust the sweetness according to your preference. If you don’t like the sweetness of honey, reduce the amount of honey and ketchup. I am using honey because I like its sweetness, which is balanced well with salmon.
  • Choose your favorite herb for better seasoning. It is seasoned with parsley, Dill, thyme, or other spices you like.
  • Sear the salmon from both sides. First, sear the pink meat side of the salmon and then sear the skin side. If you don’t like the skin, you can remove it and then sear both sides. Skins contain good minerals, so I am using salmon with skin.
  • Frozen salmon should be thawed first to cook it evenly. Cooking frozen salmon directly will not cook properly.
