Description

I had some cherry tomatoes left from the farmer’s market that I didn’t want to waste so I figured it was a great opportunity to try the viral Boursin cheese pasta that’s all over social media. So, let’s take the detailed steps of this recipe and enjoy the pasta at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (400g of your favorite pasta (I’ve used Gigli))
  • 2 packs (300g Boursin cheese)
  • 30 cherry tomatoes (I’ve used a mix of cherry and baby plum)
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • A small diced red onion
  • A few basil leaves torn
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 23 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Take a large rectangular oven dish and place the Boursin cheese in the middle of the dish. Place the cherry tomatoes, garlic cloves, torn basil leaves, and diced red onion in the oven dish.
  2. Pour olive oil into the ingredients in the dish and season it with some salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Place the dish in the oven and bake it for about 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or until the cheese is melted and tomatoes are roasted.
  4. While the dish is baking, boil your pasta according to package instructions or until al dente. I am using Gigli pasta, but you can use any of your favorite pasta. Drain the boiled pasta and set it aside.
  5. Grab the dish out of the oven once it’s done, stir everything, and mix it well until it turns creamy sauce. Combine the pasta and sauce and gently combine the pasta and sauce until the pasta is completely coated with sauce.
  6. Garnish your Boursin tomato pasta with some freshly grated parmesan cheese and serve it with some garlic bread or salad.

Notes

  • Always choose quality ingredients like fresh basil leaves, and fresh cherry tomatoes. The fresher veggies you choose the better it will taste.
  • I recommend you choose Italian seasoning but if you don’t have any, you can use chili flakes as well.
  • Adjust the baking time for roasting tomatoes. Keep an eye on the veggies and cheese being roasted. Bake until the tomatoes start bubbling.
  • When you are mixing pasta and sauce add some pasta water to balance the consistency.
  • Serve your pasta fresh right after tossing pasta with sauce because it tastes best fresh.
  • You can add the spices and herbs of your choice. Fresh rosemary and oregano will also add the best flavors.

How to store the Boursin pasta? Place the leftovers in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for 3 days. I don’t recommend you freeze the leftover pasta. Reheat your pasta in a microwave by adding some splash of water for about 1 minute or reheat it in the pan with some splash of water that will prevent the pasta from drying out.
