Pumpkin sauce for coffee is the autumn treat that reminds us of the beginning of fall and the joy of holidays. My mama Ana and I always make pumpkin sauce at the start of Autumn and use this sauce for Coffee and tea. I’ve already bought some spooky mugs and wish all of you until autumn for full-force decorating, but a few fall/spooky things I love to have out all year round. So, I made pumpkin sauce to enjoy my coffee in the fall. This sauce is easy to make with only four ingredients: light brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla.
One of my favorite times of fall is pumpkin spice syrup which is at its peak in the season. Every home has pumpkin spice in the chilly autumn season. Make pumpkin spice syrup in coffees or vanilla lattes at home instead of going to cafés.
Why Pumpkin sauce for coffee?
- Perfect for Halloween Season. This sauce is perfect for the autumn season when there are a lot of pumpkin things in markets. This pumpkin spice syrup is best to pair with coffee or a latte and makes the perfect combination this season. You can make pumpkin spice latte for your friends at the Halloween party, and they will love it.
- Homemade Goodness. This pumpkin sauce is more affordable to make at home rather than to buy from markets. The main thing about this sauce is you can make your latte and coffee at home that is fresher in flavor than in cafes and coffee shops. Store in a jar to make the coffee ahead of time.
- Use in Multiple Ways. My favorite pumpkin spice syrup is not only for coffee. You can add a tablespoon to your tea, or herbal tea, or drizzle it over your pancakes and waffles. The aroma of pumpkin spice will level up your cozy fall vibes!
What is pumpkin pie spice?
Pumpkin spice is the combination of different spices cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and clove all ground into fine powder. This spice can be found at local markets, and superstores or you can make this spice at home. This pumpkin spice is used in the preparation of pumpkin pies, pumpkin cakes, cookies, or even in the preparation of pumpkin sauce for latte.
Things for Pumpkin Spice Syrup
- Light Brown Sugar_ It is the best sugar we can use in this recipe. It allows the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice to add their natural colors. I am not using dark brown sugar because it will change the color of the pumpkin sauce to dark. Light brown sugar will increase the thickness of the sauce for coffee without affecting the natural brown color of pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice.
- Canned Pumpkin Puree_ Use canned puree that is made with pure pumpkin without sweetened flavors and spices. It is not the same as pumpkin filling in pumpkin pie. Pumpkin puree will give this pumpkin sauce the main pumpkin flavors.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice_ This is a popular spice that is often found in stores. It is a combination of different spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. This spice will add a warm flavor to our syrup when it pairs with coffee or latte.
- Water_ It serves as a base for making the syrup. You can adjust the amount of water for desired consistency.
- Vanilla_ Vanilla extract will give the sauce a beautiful vanilla smell.
Equipment Required
- Saucepan for making puree.
